AN ADAPTIVE WAVELET SOLUTION TO GENERALIZED STOKES PROBLEM
In this paper we will present an adaptive wavelet scheme to solvethe generalized Stokes problem. Using divergence free wavelets, theproblem is transformed into an equivalent matrix vector system, thatleads to a positive definite system of reduced size for thevelocity. This system is solved iteratively, where the applicationof the infinite stiffness matrix, that is sufficiently compressible,is r...
متن کاملDirect Numerical Simulation of Turbulence Using Divergence-Free Wavelets
We present a numerical method based on divergence-free wavelets to solve the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. We introduce a new scheme which uses anisotropic (or generalized) divergence-free wavelets, and which only needs Fast Wavelet Transform algorithms. We prove its stability and show convincing numerical experiments.
متن کاملDivergence-free and curl-free wavelets in 2D and 3D, application to turbulent flows
Abstract. We investigate the use of compactly supported divergence-free wavelets for the representation of solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations. After reviewing the theoretical construction of divergence-free wavelet vectors, we present in detail the bases and corresponding fast algorithms for two and three-dimensional incompressible flows. We also propose a new method to practically comput...
متن کاملOn the Nonexistence of Certain Divergence-free Multi-wavelets
We show that there are no biorthogonal pairs of divergence-free multi-wavelet families on R n , having any regularity, such that both biorthog-onal families have compactly supported, divergence-free generators. This main result generalizes Lemari e's bivariate result. In particular, our method is based on vector-valued multiresolution analyses.
متن کاملRobust 4D flow denoising using divergence-free wavelet transform.
PURPOSE To investigate four-dimensional flow denoising using the divergence-free wavelet (DFW) transform and compare its performance with existing techniques. THEORY AND METHODS DFW is a vector-wavelet that provides a sparse representation of flow in a generally divergence-free field and can be used to enforce "soft" divergence-free conditions when discretization and partial voluming result i...
